FLCrosswind
The FLCrosswind application provides a visual representation of a runway crosswind and calculates the perpendicular wind component.
The pilot follows these steps:
- Select US state.
- Select airport.
- Set wind direction and speed.
- Select runway.
- View crosswind perpendicular component and runway graphic.
The pilot may compare the crosswind component to the limit published in the aircraft's Pilot Operating Handbook (POH) or Aircraft Operating Instructions (AOI).
Although the app's database contains only US airports at the moment, it also contains a generic one for use at private airports and in other countries.
Currently the app runs on AndroidTM 2.1 and later versions, on smartphones and tablets.
